Obtaining a License

Congratulations on your decision to become a real estate agent! Selling real estate is a desirable career for various reasons, including flexibility and pay. Once you complete the licensing requirements, the sky’s the limit!

You must be 18 years of age or older to begin the licensing process which includes successfully completing an approved 90-hour license course. You will also need to obtain your fingerprints for submission for the required background check.

Once you complete the course requirements, you will submit your Course Completion Certificate and License application to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission to obtain a testing identification number to schedule your license exam.  You must pass the National and State PSI License exam with a passing score of 70% or better.

You must select a real estate broker to place your license in order to begin work. You will also need to pay the current required license fee.

Lastly, you will join the local board of Realtors in your area.
